History of The Links

In 1990, owners R. D. Hubbard and Ed
Allred of All-Hub Investments undertook the task of converting the old
Sierra Blanca Regional Airport (pictured above) into The Links at
Sierra Blanca. With Senior PGA Tour Player Jim Colbert and architect Jeff Bauer at his
side they tore up the tarmac and removed the old hangars and
buildings. Using great land management as they built the
signature high rolling mounds throughout the golf course there was not
any dirt brought onto or off of the property.
On March 1, 1991 the Links at Sierra Blanca was open for business and
is continually rated as one of the top golf courses in the State of New
Mexico.
The 120 acres are now the home to The Links at Sierra Blanca, Hawthorn Suites Resort Hotel,
the Ruidoso Convention Center, and a paved 2.9 mile public
walking path that traverses along the outside of the golf course.
